About this listen

Willa Knight: Dweller? Sol? Accidental evolutionary hiccup? Willa has never been a particularly useful dweller: she isn’t very good at chores, she isn’t very good at worshipping, she isn’t very good at not having opinions, and she isn’t very good with rules—but none of that matters anymore. The rules are changing.

The dwellers are trying to make their own way in the world, and Willa can’t seem to help getting tangled up in their plans. Luckily, she has the Abcurse brothers to help her out—until she doesn’t, and suddenly she’s alone again in a world on the brink of chaos. With the Abcurses gone, she’ll have to rely on her wits, and her sister Emmy, to stay under the radar and survive. Because someone wants her dead. But, really, what else is new?

Not sure why, but I'm not in love with the series yet I am completely happy going through it. Well that's a lie, guess I know why. While this could have been written with more POVs, more detail in the Smex scene, and for audio purposes a duel narrative as the MMC voices sound 100% fake and comical by now. The series still makes me laugh, makes us gasp and is light in a way I don't need much to keep going...if that makes sense.

The origins of Willa the FMC and the 1st God come to light...well not exactly Willa's, there is still some mystery there. But it adds to the clues in trying to work out how why and what. Willa is the same old Willa and it's kind of refreshing. I don't think I want her to develop or change, feels like she already grew into herself before starting this journey and that confidence in knowing who she is makes her more badass. Don't get me wrong there is always something to develop and in Willa's case, I think it is her relationship with others and forming bonds, which is perfect as she's got 5 Gods who won't let her go and who she can't stop holding onto!

The smex scene...could have been longer and more detailed. After book 2, I wasn't sure how they could add in more spice let alone smex without it ruining the flow, but they managed it and it was hot, but too short and lacking in detail, not even sure what happened in the end...well I know but it was just lacking.

Anyway, I am happily skipping onto the next book, as it's just such an easy series to fall into. Not exactly my favourite, but I can see myself rereading this for the comical parts I end up laughing out loud at and even scaring myself because I hadn't realised I started laughing...It's a whole thing...I probably need to get that fixed.
