It's a simple, well-written story with solid characters, a solid MC and an overall fairly straightforward plot.
Its well narrated and does not drag.

I read these first and enjoyed the premise which although not new, kicked @ss as I loved the characters and the skill set. Having Campbell do the narration is good news as being a fan of his work, I always enjoyed his style, and this is no different. Luckily, the 2nd audio is ready, but I may have to wait a while for the 3rd, which will be my biggest cripe with this audio. If this is your first outing with Tanners work, then this is a great introduction, and I can't recommend this enough as being a big audio fan finding series to stay in my thoughts and be one I want to follow is hard. Hopefully, you also enjoy this as much as I did, I requested this audio and have decided to leave my thoughts for everyone.

The setting, plot and characters are interesting enough. Your typical dungeon crawler carl/solo levelling fair. However technically the book is a mess. Language is frequently repeated, suggesting little if any proofreading. But the main issue are the fight scenes. They frequently disregard common sense as well as cause and effect. The story will set up a rule and then break it within the very same fight. Needs a lot more editing. But could be a fun read.
