Critic reviews

Inspired by an eerie ancient legend, Sacrifice is a chilling, mesmerising debut thriller. S. J. Bolton is one to watch

Part forensic-thriller, part medical-thriller, Sacrifice combines both elements to great effect in
this atmospheric and original debut

This slick, fast moving thriller has a cracking opening scene and goes on to develop into a gripping story of intrigue and adventure . . . An interesting and skilful debut

This book certainly has pace. It is the second of Bolton's that I have read and the second to be incredibly creepy. You do sometimes find yourself wondering if so many things could happen to one person but, as each incident can be explained within the plotlines of the story, it only serves to keep you more on the edge of your seat. There are still times when you find yourself thinking it's all rather improbable but it didn't take away from the enjoyment - if one can say that about a book that has you anxious from start to finish!

An excellent if disturbing read

A good quality story that keeps your interest and keeps you guessing. Characters are well drawn. Recommended.

I so so enjoyed this book and found the narrative fine and didnt take from the book. The story is quite far fetched in parts but it is so good I didnt care. There are lots of twists and turns and when you think you have it all worked out it changes direction. I will be looking for more books from this author. Recommended.

A bit scary Mary I would say

Gripping and spine chilling fiction that could so easily be fact. Man's inhumanity to mankind well portrayed and narrated.

Sacrifice; believe able fiction.

Wonderful scary story which held my attention!
So many things hidden then revealed, well written and read with outcomes that I did not guess, which is a first. Thanks

Had to listen to the whole thing
