About this listen

A Warhammer 40,000 Novel

Night has fallen on the prison world of Zartak. Renegades from the Imperium's dawn stalk the complex, delivering pain and death. Yet something just as dangerous awaits them: the brutal, predatory, but ultimately loyal Space Marine Chapter known as the Carcharodons.

LISTEN TO IT BECAUSE

It's a gripping tale, as stalking Night Lords face the Imperium's most predatory Space Marines in a darkened prison – with wardens and convicts caught in the middle.

THE STORY

On the prison world of Zartak, darkness has fallen on arbitrators and inmates alike. The Night Lords have come, bringing with them the shadow of fear and pain. But these monsters are not the only ones with an interest in Zartak. From the void, running on silent, another fleet emerges.

These Space Marine warriors are grey-clad and white-faced, and their eyes are as black as the Outer Dark – the savage Carcharodon Astra. As two packs of ancient, merciless predators stalk the shadows of the prison colony, both seeking a single young inmate with unnatural talents, the corridors run red, and both factions will have to fight tooth and claw to leave Zartak alive.

I've been waiting for this to become available here, and the wait was well worth it. Only issue is that there are times where the narration swaps between characters without a gap or pause so there was a few times I had to skip back a bit to figure out where the swap occurred.

Action, character development, well read, interesting lore and a touch of poetry in the symmetrical plot. Recommended 👍

Loved the whole story, no complaints! glowing review from a lifelong Warhammer fan who's presently collecting a Space Sharks/Charcarodons army

Damn good book and a must-listen!

The story is dark, bloody and gripping. There are no heroes here, villains and at best anti heroes and it's great.

Really enjoyed it and it's well narrated too

Great story and narrator

Very solid book and neat premise it these story's that should be adapted into a TV show or comic. carcharodons are very cool as well as some of the night lords tactics that are used against them. really enjoyed the narration hope to hear more from Shogo. solid Shark outta 10 story hope we will get more from this interesting successor chapter.

Shark Marines and Bat Marines argue over child custody with who's chapter is cooler. my moneys on the sharks 🦈

Night Lords are very interesting as a Heretic Traitor Legion and to throw the Void Sharks against them as both try to take a tithe gave a wonderful look at both chapters and their differences and similarities. Silent fierce predators versus screaming traitorous terrors. What is not to like?

A Great Void Shark Story

Honestly haven't any clue how someone can make carcharadons vs night lords boring, but the narrator has managed to do it. From what little I got through the story is pretty good. However, the narrator just kills it. Doesn't even bother attempting female voices and makes it difficult to even tell which character is talking due to the monotone. It's not just bad compared to usual warhammer narrator quality, it's just plain bad.

VA is boring as all hell

Great story, good voiceacting, and Space Sharks!. A Minor minus: some character names were unclear.

Space Sharks!!!

Id never heard anything from the narrator before and really enjoyed thier work. The story was at times intriguing, but also quite disjointed, passing from one named character to the next too quickly. This might have worked better in the written text. I liked hearing more about the Night Lords, always fun. And the Carcharodons were interesting, but more so thier background and not so much the actual characters themselves.

Really enjoyed the narrator

Great warhammer story and extremely exciting with a clash between Carcharodons and Nightlords. I love how the narrativ makes Great voices for both fiction, specially with the nightlords, how they all sound like dracula or slavic!

Awesome!
