Summary

What does it really take to get productivity from people and, by doing so, maximum profits for your business?

With a nod to Jeff Bezos, Steve Jobs, Walt Disney, and other ruthless yet highly successful managers, Dan S. Kennedy delivers the answer. In this new edition, Kennedy expands on his proven (if radical) strategies to get accountability, profitability, and productivity from employees.

In his traditional "No B.S." style, Kennedy kicks traditional leadership and management ideas squarely in the teeth with a realistic, straightforward assessment of the real relationship between business owners and their employees. Uncompromising strategies help managers gain iron-fisted control and get the results they demand. This take-no-prisoners advice liberates entrepreneurs to act in their best interests and insist on implementation of their objectives. And it leads to a cooperative, high-performance team when traditional textbook methods fail.

Topics include learning how to hire profitable employees, taking home as much money as possible, making every employee's job a profit center, managing the powerful force of word of mouth, compressing the time between idea and action for maximum profits, and posing questions to individuals that force them to think and improve productivity.

Genius, a MUST read.

Honestly the best business book I have ever read and I usually read 60 hours a month. A must in any business owners arsenal. I have the paper copy full of notes and highlighting already.

A lot of rightwing political BS

I didn’t buy the book for his political and macroeconomic views but for people management techniques. He was doing a lot of rightwing BS in the early chapters about politics n economics something he clearly doesn’t understand. So couldn’t even finish the book.

Brilliantly No BS

This is exactly what I needed to hear as it's an area I really struggle with. Will listen again multiple times with my notepad.

More of a sales funnel

I like Dan Kennedy, the guy is brilliant. However if you are looking for actual management solutions this is not the book to obtain them from directly, He has many authors who speak and set you up to visit their sites to get more info on their services to help put in systems or other things you need to scale and operate your business. They offer free books that after reading turn out to be almost exactly word for word what they spoke about in the audio book. Well played Mr. Kennedy you figured how to get us to all to pay full price for a free funnel book that otherwise we'd just have to pay 2.99 shipping.

Umm...what did he just say?

I appreciate the permission he gives business owners to look out for themselves. It’s an important reminder to any SBO who cares about their employees. It was worth sifting through his incredibly right-winged rhetoric for the advice until...he mentioned that only land-owners should be allowed to vote. I had to do a double take...1) how is that tidbit relevant to management? 2) did he start writing this in the 1700s? Dear god.

Finally - the truth is revealed!

A must read for any business owner who is trying to figure the awkward, sometimes confrontational and always time consuming activity called 'Employee Management".

God awful.

Kennedy put together a recipe for having the worst morale you could possibly imagine at your workplace. There is diligence that is due to managing and responsibly watching over the behavior of your staff and employees but this screed is basically a recipe for and unhappy workplace. The man seems to be venting his problems and his reactions out in this book and some sort of therapy that you have to purchase off of him. After seeing extended period of exposure and in-depth conversation with the guy I have to say he’s, simply put, The crank and a bigot. There’s nothing more there and there’s nothing more to fine because he has nothing more to give. It’s the root of this griping complaining angry at the employee screed. Don’t waste your time and money on this because it will give you no successful route forward. It belongs in the dust bin.

Amazing! Must Read! Just What I Needed!

I learned about Dan Kennedy through Russell Brunson. I’m currently a business owner with about 25 staff doing over 3 million a year and I needed Dan’s viewpoint! I got it! This is the closest thing to a literal Kick in the Ass by Dan himself that you can get for the price of a book. Highly recommend it! READ IT! More importantly take action.

Every business owner should read this

Wow, the book delivered on the no BS, no holds barred, kick butt, take no prisoners part. I was hoping for a bit more optimism about staff. But it is what it is. I appreciated the truth.

I have read and listened to a lot of books and most are hyped up rubbish or look at large businesses that have little relevance to smaller businesses. This guy on the other hand shows some humanity and humour. Not only that, I have verified much of what he talks about in my 17 years of starting and running two businesses.

If you don't agree with this book or it doesn't help you in your decision making towards profit making, then you're from another planet.

Great real-talk about business and employees

As a business owner, sometimes you need to get the wake-up call and this is it. Great principles to think about in everyday business and working with employees. Not the sugar coated B.S. you get in other books.

Good listening while doing yard work

I’ve read the book at least twice and several others. The audio book was a good refresher. I listened to it while working in the yard over several weekends. Definitely worth the listen.
