Summary

Feeling unwanted and still reeling from his encounter in the Garden of Clarity, Trent Embra leaves the city to find out what else the world has to offer.

Making his own decisions for the first time, an adrift Trent latches onto the quest in his status telling him to survive alone on the wilds for two weeks. With only the doctrine of Sergeant Cullen to guide him, and a sword to depend on, Trent puts his back to Al’drossford and heads south to find out how different life as an adventurer is compared to the one he has been leading.

Exceptional in all rights

From the voice acting, the story and the leveling system this book and series are among my favourites out of the hundreds of books of this genre I've read, would recommend to anyone who enjoys litrpg books and cannot wait for the 4th book!

Very Entertaining

Excellent progression fantasy. With entertaining side characters, an interesting main character and well developed story with a number of arcs that I look forward to reading in the upcoming novels. I really hope that the author can maintain such a strong story over the many, hopefully, books to come.

Excellent!

My only problem is waiting for the next book. Please speed the process but not at the expense of the story. Great work

Greatest book ever

When I read book one I wasn’t sure but after the first couple chapters I really got into it I will have to say books1 2 and three are amazing and I’m hoping there’s a book 4 and 5 and I just pretty much hope the story goes on I’ll be really disappointed if there wasn’t another book

Boring

Too focussed on predictable dungeon diving, got boring because I'm not into predictable dungeon diving stories.

Wonderful

This newest chapter in the story of Trent Embra, Violet eyed Survivalist, and former bond of the daughter of Duke Aldross, is the best yet of an already outstanding series.

Giving us fantastic world building. Deep and well formed characters, interactions that establish that Trent is no ordinary boy, and those around him are beginning to know it, even if he does get shrouded from the world by a fairy's curse.

The way this story progresses and how Trent and the ones around him develop is a credit to a well written book, and the way Mr. Campbell reads it is just about perfect. I am flat out amazed at how good this book and series is and recommend it to everyone.

Buy this series, this book and prepare for one fantastic adventure!

Decent but some very troubled areas need fixing

MC always forgot he knew magic or could learn it , in order to add "drama". every book... or he magically would make stupid mistakes he hadn't made since day one to add drama... the fights were the worst part of each book. author has better writing for interactions but not writing action. everything fought was boring. you can't make a fight against an ant interesting. History parts, political, or characters interacting were fine. Collen is the best part of every book. MC needs a love interest and to actually learn how to learn. he's stupid and ignorant. it's not fun reading/listening to his parts when he does everything the hard way. There's a forced separation in book that felt off and was boring until MC remembers magic exist. I'll read the next one, but author has to step her/his game up. Separate note, the fact that MC was with a girl first 2 books and no sexual tension happened or situations came up, rang false. Kids get curious around 9-12. I'm not suggesting write a sex scene obviously, but not flirting, even if poorly, or anything? Please don't go "woke" in the next book. too many parts read that way and almost caused me to quit each book.

A Wonderful Follow-up to Book 2

Here J.T. Wright starts where we find Trent separated from Sargeant Cullen, Orion and Tersa and meeting new players, some devious and untrustworthy and others leery of him but willing to join him on his Trials, aka dungeon delving to others. The encounters are terribly interesting and eventful and make for an enjoyable story and listening experience. Oddly, while Tersa does make an appearance in this book, it is short and I found myself missing her companionship with Trent. Hopefully, they will join up again in future books.

Tim Campbell performance is outstanding once again.
