About this listen

Jessie's new life adjustment is well underway. The tough alpha Austin has joined her team, and she has painstakingly learned to fly. Life is going a-okay.

That is, until her parents decide to visit....

They don't know anything about magic, about Jessie's new digs, or about the crazy crew living in and around Jessie's house. She must do everything in her power to keep the truth away from them.

Which would be much easier without the unfelt presence lurking within Ivy House's borders. It seems an enemy has figured out a way to magically bypass Ivy House's defenses. Jessie is completely exposed.

The real battle, however, won't be with the incoming force. It will be between Mr. Tom and Jessie's mom, each intent on being the most helpful. Mr. Tom might have met his match, and he is not pleased.

Just when things were finally settling down, Jessie is in the thick of it again, and this time, the turmoil is all around her.

This book is part three of the good story of a middle aged woman discovering her strength... and magic. I liked the humor in it, the characters' different personalities and their adventures. I had jyst read the previous books so I found it a bit hard getting used to the actress' voice at the beginning, but that's quite usual for me.

A wonderful funny story, as usual.

Brilliant, I'm so enjoying listening to these books, their hilarious. Wonderful, fantasy story with interestingly unusual supernatural characters brought to life with great narration, so entertaining. I'm definitely getting the rest of this series.

I'm already a fan of K. F. Breene's books. I love her writing style and her stories tick all my boxes. Breene has an intelligent writing style that's easy to read. Her main characters have realistic personalities that I can't help but root for. She also writes great supporting characters that contribute towards the protagonist's growth and the plot. I love the believable background stories and settings in her books and marvel at the balanced mix of relationship, tension, action, humour and mystery she creates.

Hollie Jackson is a fantastic narrator. I like the pace at which she reads and the emotions she conveys. Her performance was outstanding; bringing the story and characters to life. There are some very unique characters in this series, and the voices she has created for them all are very impressive. Their personality shines through. Hollie transported me into each and every scene.

As a menopausal woman within spitting distance of the big 5-0, I love that this series has an older protagonist and supporting characters. Jessie is a woman who's comfortable in her own skin and has the confidence of life experience behind her. However, as everyone knows, change is a big part of life, how we react and deal with it is the key to personal growth. I loved how Jessie dealt with the situations in this book, how she's learning and growing into her new magical position.

Magical Midlife Invasion builds on the previous books. The threads running through the series and the ones that begin and end in this book were enthralling and entertaining. I loved listening to Jessie stumble through her parental visit while trying to keep the magic hidden from them. It created some very entertaining scenes.

There are some darker scenes, including violence and scary-ass killer dolls, so be warned.

I'd recommend Magical Midlife Invasion to adults who enjoy coming-of-age stories with older protagonists. Readers who love older, independent, capable heroines and strong alpha heroes. Plots with a generous helping of banter, humour and realistic issues for the over 40s within a paranormal adventure.

I can't wait to get my hands on the next audiobook - Magical Midlife Love - and check out the other books available in the Paranormal Women's Fiction (PWF) genre.

I devoured this story from beginning to end.

So funny. And such and interesting story. I don't want it to end. Needing recommendations of similar this is by far my fave.

Love this series

Really enjoying this series. Great characterisation, I love what Nicole Poole does with Edgar in particular, I’ve not been so fond of a vampire since Angel and Spike (not the same kind of fond mind you! 😆). Always nice when something makes you laugh out loud. Hope the author is cracking on with the next one already.

Great series, light-hearted, funny and with a relatable heroine
