Of course, that was before she and her best friend found a dead body in the back of the charming store. Things go from bad to worse when Raven begins to hear a talking cat spouting on and on about magic and mayhem.

Once Raven accepts that she's not losing her mind, she finds herself in the middle of a murder investigation while discovering her family's unusual lineage-the Marigolds are bona fide witches!

Lovely story

This was a little bit of light silliness to listen to but the accent of the protagonist’s friend was grating!

Sweet little story but I didn’t particularly like the narration (sorry!)

Really enjoyed the story, the characters and the book was narrated beautifully. I am listening to book two now as i loved the first story so much. Thank you. I shall look to see what other books she has written.

Great book and well worth listening

This was rather quirky. I'm not sure if it's a quirk I'll follow, but outside of her bad beginning, I'm sort of curious how it goes.

Quirky

I enjoyed this book. This is the first book by this author that I have read or listened too, while not anything special or original it was fun and has potential, so I will be joining the series again. The reason it only got four stars is because of the main characters penchant for accusing everybody of being the killer and running to the police with the certainly that she was right and they were wrong, it got a bit annoying. Otherwise she made for an interesting character, as did the grumpy familial. The mystery kept me guessing and I never did guess right, although I did think the motive for murder was a bit weak. Still a fun listen.
After the death of her estranged grandmother, Raven is surprised to learn she has been left her little tea shop, especially as she favours coffee. The only stipulation is she has to live the village for a year before she can sell it. Knowing how her mother feels about her home town Raven doesn't tell her she is moving. Getting into An argument with her mother is the least of her worries when she discovers the lawyer dead in her tea shop, only he isn't really her grandmother's lawyer. Opening the tea shop under a cloud of suspicion isn't good for business and Raven sets out to discover who the dead man was and why he was killed. But her grandmother and even her mother has been keeping secrets from her, secrets her grandmother's familiar now has to teach her, if only the grumpy battered old cat could remember. Can Raven convince her mother she needs to stay, find a killer and learn all about tea and potions?
I liked the narrator. She did a good job bring the characters to life in An entertaining way.

Sit back with a cup of tea and enjoy
