Summary

Welcome back to Paramour Bay as USA Today best-selling author Kennedy Layne continues her cozy paranormal mystery series that will have you brewing up a cup of tea well past midnight...

It's been two months since Raven Marigold discovered she was a witch, and she is handling her situation with grace. Well, if you discount the fact that she caught her blouse on fire and made her cat's tail go numb for four hours. The bottom line is that Raven is succeeding in her pursuit of this new mystical life she's been given.

Someone must have missed that memo, though. Raven finds herself smack dab in the middle of another murder investigation. Every piece of evidence points to the town treasurer as being the guilty party, but she isn't so sure the case is that cut and dried.

It is then that Raven gets the brilliant idea of using a bit of witchcraft to help out the handsome, young sheriff. After all, what could go wrong with a bewitching blend, an enchanted spell book, and a haunted inn on the edge of town?

Great start to a new series

Kennedy Lane has crafted a great story to continue her new series, Paramour Bay Cozy Mysteries. The characters are well rounded and as believable as possible. Hollis Jackson as always, gives a great performance as she brings it all to together. I look forward to more in this series.

Cute little series!

Cute story. You can definitely start with this book and figure out what’s going on without reading the first one. I liked the first one a lot- though it took a while to get into it.
The narrator was wonderful, with a couple of exceptions. She mispronounced several words and the voice of Ted sounded like a zombie, so I thought he was one until I realized everyone could see him. Heidi’s voice is quite over the top and doesn’t match with how she is described. I really like the setting of the story and the tea shop with magical blends. I did not expect the twist the end the way that it did, so that was great! I’m looking forward to the next in the series!

Entertaining, fun read!

Bewitching Blend is just one of the books in the Paramour Bay series by Kennedy Layne. The characters and setting are such fun! This whole series is so entertaining, I have read every one of them. This is by far my favorite series of books.

Budding Witchcraft and Deadly Audits

Raven Marigold finds herself still trying to navigate her powers, her new life running her deceased grandmother’s tea shop, and in the midst of a new murder investigation. These stories are an easy listen with great pacing and interesting characters. I really enjoy how the audience is right in the middle of learning and developing an understanding of magic with Raven. Her interactions with her familiar Leo and her friend Heidi in this book had me laughing and smiling. Early in the story there is a weird way the author breaks the fourth wall talking directly to the audience which quickly falls away as you get further into the tale. Hollie does a pretty good job with the voices though as in the first volume her accent for Heidi waffles but overall I enjoy what she does with the characters, albeit I found Hollie's decision to give one of the characters a breathy Marilyn Monroe voice pretty funny. I enjoyed this second volume of the story and am looking forward to see what happens in the next. Again there is a delightful inclusion in these stories of the magical process that I have found lacking in other paranormal stories. Definitely a series I recommend for those that wish to enjoy some light paranormal cozy mysteries.
