About this listen

Fourteen-year-old Prue and her sister Grace have been educated at home by their controlling, super-strict father all their lives. Forced to wear Mum's odd hand-made garments and forbidden from reading teenage magazines, they know they're very different to 'normal' girls – but when Dad has a stroke and ends up in hospital, unable to move or speak, Prue suddenly discovers what it's like to have a little freedom.

Sent to a real school for the first time, Prue struggles to fit in. The only person she can talk to is her kindly, young – and handsome – art teacher, Rax. They quickly bond, and Prue feels more and more drawn to him. As her feelings grow stronger, she begins to realise that he might feel the same way about her. But nothing could ever happen between them – could it?

Would you try another book written by Jacqueline Wilson or narrated by Finty Williams?

I love Jacqueline Wilson and if your also a fan of hers than I suggest reading/listening to it, if you don't enjoy her so much than I would choose something else, it was read pretty well. They did voices, which is a bonus.

If you’ve listened to books by Jacqueline Wilson before, how does this one compare?

Jacqueline Wilson's other books are a lot better, definitely try another if you enjoy, or like the look of this, and if you don't try another one of hers their great.

Could you see Love Lessons being made into a movie or a TV series? Who would the stars be?

I can't see it being made into a successful one because it is for children 10 and above and I don't see people finding it that interesting.

fairly good

The story is good and funny and interesting this a bit strange at some times
but overall a good book. also I think the ending was not great like many their should be more to it . I would recommend this book for age 11-15 but if you are a more mature 10 year old then it's also good for you . My fav character is Toby or prudence I like Tibet because he is an interesting character and is dyslexic like me so that's why I prefer audio books more. Like prue\prudence because she likes stuff like art and is creative and defraint. Sorry if some of my spelling are wrong as I said I am dyslexic

Normally this would be bad, I wasn’t expecting the love aspect to be a teacher, I fell asleep listening to it and only woke up in the last couple of chapters which was a horrible shock but Jaqueline Wilson books make me cry, shake with anger, gasp in shock but this one had me retching XD it sounds like such a horrific scenario ugghhhhhh but I’m gonna listen to it again 😭

This book felt like hot sick in my mouth 🤢

I really liked this audio book, its easy to listen to and the narrator was great at making the characters believable. I'd definitely say the story on the otherhand, is for older teenagers. It has a lot of adult themes including a child in love with an adult teacher. It is written from the teenager's perspective so some of these themes aren't addressed as negatively as an adult would see them, but it's a thoroughly captivating story and brings up a lot of questions about first loves.

A good audio book not for younger fans
