About this listen

The first official Knightfall tie-in novel, charting the Templars' adventures after the Fall of Acre.

Following the Fall of Acre, Landry, Godfrey, and the other survivors of the siege flee in a sailboat across the Mediterranean. Drifting for weeks, they try to land on Cyprus only to run into a dangerous Mamluk detachment. Running dangerously low on supplies, they are forced to take to the seas once more.

Trying to land on the coastline of Turkey, they are ambushed by pirates and taken captive. Incarcerated on a remote island compound, Landry, Godfrey and the other Templars must plan their escape before all hope is lost.

I bought this book on the strength of the narrator James Langton who did a great job with the Hellequin series, and because I loved the author's Thieftaker series. I was not aware this was a follow up to a tv series but this was not a problem. The story pics up after the fall of Acre as a group of Templars and refugees flee the city, presumably the events of the tv series. As a result you are thrown into an established group but the author does a great job of quickly getting you to know them, I immediately felt an affinity for the characters and enjoyed a well written adventure. i look forward to more.

Liked this book, well written and likeable characters. Will read as many as they make.

From the very first page I was hooked. The characters are developed greatly as the story unfolds and I found myself addicted to finding out what happens next. The only downside is that it had to come to an end. Absolutely loved it.

brilliant

A little bit Slow in parts. Some of it really drags on but when it gets going it’s not bad. The story is a little limited though

Not a terrible read

Despite not reading the first book the characters come to life and the story is complete.

A good adventure

James Langton is one of the better narrators I have encountered in my voyages through the many books listened to.
Storyline a little predictable though.

Well read.

It's an enjoyable romp but don't expect realism. in fact suspend belief altogether because the scenarios on the pirate island are ludicrous.

Entertaining but ...
