About this listen

Warring kingdoms. Ancient blades. Dragonriders and godlings. A growing evil that threatens to destroy the world. Don’t miss the highly anticipated follow-up series to the number one Amazon best-selling saga, The Fatemarked Epic.

Infused with magic, shadows and starlight, the powerful godblades were believed to be lost nearly half a millennia ago, when the Godswar ended. Now, however, one has been found by the unlikeliest of wielders: Sampson Gaard, a blind but ambitious prince with something to prove.

The only question is whether he controls the blade or the blade him. With an insidious evil lurking in the shadows, the answer may very well determine the fate of all Kingfall.

The Kingfall Histories takes place on a different continent in the same world as The Fatemarked Epic. Fans of The Fatemarked Epic, The Stormlight Archives and Legends of the First Empire will fall in love with the world of Kingfall.

Thank goodness I stumbled across this book / series. Really easy, enjoyable listening with great narration and characters.
Has been my go to listen whenever I can. Am writing this review after completing book 2! Totally absorbing and great. You won’t be disappointed and book two is just as good with more characters developed.

Excellent story, great narration and characters

Came to this after finishing 'Yhe Forgottens Warrior'.

Like the title says really did enjoy this and have gotten invested in the story of Dane and Peony. Samson was okay at the start but turned into kind of a meh character. I liked the Grizary and didn't really like how he treated them.

Already purchased Volume 2 and can't wait to listen.

Really enjoy this

I've been longing to get to read this book, and let me tell you, it was well worth the wait, and I was not disappointed. Vivid descriptions, well-rounded characters, excellent worldbuilding, and a gripping plot, all merge together to make this an amazing read. The story captured me from the first words, and only the essential nature of real life commitments, and the need to sleep, prevented me from devouring it from start to finish, otherwise it wouldn't have taken me nearly so long to finish reading. Now I'm eagerly anticipating the second book in the series, and strongly considering ensuring I clear my calender for a couple of days after its release so I can binge read it in the way I would have liked to do with this one. If you love a good fantasy story - especially one filled with magic, demons, and dragons - you need to read this book. And if you get the audio version, I can assure you the narrator does a fantastic job.

Amazing read

The first book in the fatemarked epic was so incredibly dire and constantly depressing that I gave up on the series before I even finished book 1.

Kingfall starts off incredibly depressing, as in just so,so goddamn dire it's an absolute pain to listen to, however there is a sun in the horizon and the book does pick up and get better rather fast. That's a massive step up from Fatemarked, which basically didn't pick itself up until the very end, but didn't do enough for me to want to actually listen to book 2.

Characters are well written and believable. I like vast majority of them and sympathize with the rest so basically nothing less than what I'd expect from David Estes as a writer.

This book is so good that it makes me want to give Fatemarked epic another chance,

Far more enjoyable than Fatemarked
