About this listen

Joel may be the earliest of the writing prophets; if he is, then he introduces the term “the Day of the Lord” as a reference to a set of final, catastrophic events that will befall Israel—and indeed all humanity in the “end times.” Illustrating his message with reference to a dreadful locust plague that occurred in the past, we shudder as God makes clear that if Israel does not repent something much greater than a locust plague will occur. Follow along as Logos Bible Study’s Dr. Bill Creasy casts this book’s imagery in living color and Dolby® sound on the big screens of our mind’s eye, compelling us to understand the dire message of this unique prophet.

Editor reviews

Joel is the second of the 12 Minor Prophets of the Hebrew Bible who spends much of his Biblical real estate lamenting a plague of locusts. Dr. Bill Creasey interprets this natural disaster literally and places it in its historical context. As always, this renowned Biblical scholar couples live, dynamic readings with intimate and relatable examination of the verses. A listener could not walk away from this "global classroom" collection of Logos Bible Study without a deeper, more personal understanding of Christianity. It is recommended that students listen with Bible in hand, following the literal lines while Creasey exposes their broader significance.
