About this listen

In a world that doesn't understand her, how can she grow?

Ivy Knight lives her life in a blur of confusion as the world passes her by in a tumultuous melody. She isn’t the perfect daughter or student, but as long as she can be with her family, she doesn’t mind watching rather than living.

Mrs. Chattoway treasures both of her granddaughters now that they’re reunited. When Ivy’s parents enroll her in a Scottish school for unique children, she’s happy to chaperone.

In a new place with a new guardian, Ivy discovers a special talent that helps her see the blurred world in a new way. There’s a light at the end of the tunnel, and Ivy becomes determined to find it - and help others do the same.

Ivy Introspective is the second novel in a Christian family saga, The Chronicles of Alice and Ivy.

This is part two in the Chronicles of Alice and Ivy. This was completely different not in the sense of the writing style but the characters have grown up and developed into their own person. This is easy to relate to even for the era. When you modernise this and reflect this is what every young person goes through and experiences. It was lovely really getting to know and understand Ivy on a deeper level. It was easy to reflect back to the first book and think back to the initial expectations. So loved that I could relate everything into this.

This one I found to be a lot more emotional and the way the author creates Ivy in more detail is done in such a delicate way. I loved escaping into this, I loved how the detail visually took me to a magnificent beautiful setting. The only downfall for me was o did miss the voices from the first book but that’s only a little downfall. More to do with me not wanting the girls to grow up as I liked the way the narrative flowed so much.

I did struggle with the Christianity in this but I could understand the depth and the meaning behind it. I loved that as friendships group form you get an insight to the troublesome characters. It was nice seeing the best of both worlds. I still cannot wait to follow this series and see what else unfolds. Especially excited to know what time of Ivy and Alice’s life we will step into next.
