About this listen

The world had tried to break her.

Addie has dreamt of freedom for as long as she can remember - peace away from the torment of her old life. But now that it’s finally within her grasp, she’s struggling to take those first steps into her new reality.

The last thing she wants is a new roommate to see the scars she’s desperate to keep hidden, especially not the ruggedly handsome man who steals her breath and sends her heart into overdrive.

“I’m nobody’s hero. Trust me.”

All Beckett wants is to silence the demons of his past. The first step is to make amends for not being there when his family needed him the most. That means settling in Wolf Gap for good, even if the town reminds him of all the ways he failed.

He never expected to share a home with a blonde-haired beauty with haunting hazel eyes. But he’s held captive by her quiet strength and the way she sees everything he tries to hide.

Soon, an unlikely friendship becomes so much more. But when forces from Addie’s life slink out of the shadows, they could both lose everything they fought so hard for - down to their very last breaths…

Oh wow! Words can’t do this book justice! It was so heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time. I did put the book down because I got so angry for Addie at times during this book. My heart hurt for her so much. I was an emotional mess reading this. Beckett just as easily broke my heart too. Their pain sent them on a tumultuous journey but ultimately it united them. Wonderful characters, fabulous storyline and a book I won’t forget easily. This is one that will give me a severe book hangover for sure. Can’t praise this series highly enough. I cannot wait to read the next book now.
Fabulous narration

Another amazing listen by Catherine Cowles. Loved Ava Erickson as Addie & Sebastian York as Beckett. Their narration was perfect. Addie had a heartbreaking past that haunted her every move. The last thing she expected to do was have Beckett as a roommate. Beckett's past was equally traumatic. Together they were able to work through all of and get their HEA.

Loved it!

Addie is a woman who has been abused and she is finally free and learning to live her life not in fear. Little by little day by day she is doing more and living her life on her terms. Beckett Easton is back in toe taking over the town’s doctor’s practice and in his own way trying to make things right with his family that he feels he failed. These two are learning and growing together and slowly falling for each other. Loved the narration of Sebastian York, and Ava Erickson .

Although this is the third book in a series, it can easily be listened to and enjoyed as a standalone.

Never having read Catherine Cowles before, I was thoroughly hooked and intrigued by the blurb.

It was quickly obvious that there was a much longer history with these, and other characters than this story imparts, but it seriously has no impact on the relationship between Beckett and Addie, or its development. Although I will be going back to explore previous novels.

I was equal parts enraged and astounded as this story unfolded and the whole horror of Addie's upbringing was explained. I was also in awe of her strength and fortitude to bring about change.

There was no doubt she was aided in this endeavour by the support she received from not just Beckett but his family too.

Needless to say I cheered on Addie and every other victim of this heinous crime when a wrong was so beautifully set right.

As always, the narration team did a fabulous job of bringing life to these words.

All in all a story that will have me returning to this author and her stories again and again.

I love this book so much! Addie and Beckett definitely have my heart. The storyline is brilliant and with all the twists and turns, there’s never a dull moment. Hidden Waters (Tattered And Torn #3) is a fantastic read that I’ll definitely enjoy again and again. I highly recommend it.
