About this listen

Where others see doom, he sees opportunity. Hell Difficulty? More like a chance to thrive.

Nathaniel's bus ride was supposed to be just another boring commute. Wrong. Now, he, 23 fellow passengers, and a corgi named Biscuit, are stuck in a "Hell Difficulty" Tutorial, battling monsters and leveling up to survive.

Easy difficulty, anyone can handle. Normal difficulty, you've got to put up a fight to get by. Hard difficulty is where only the tough ones last. And Hell? That's where you have to be a bit out of your mind!

With his terrifying talent for mana manipulation, Nathaniel decides to invest every stat point into mana. Attribute imbalance be damned. It will either kill him before the monsters and his enemies can, or turn him into one of the most powerful beings within the system.

Never underestimate the guy who has so much Mana it should kill him...

Follow Nathaniel's crazy journey as he takes on nightmarish foes and teams up with a far-from-normal group of bus passengers in this action-packed LitRPG Adventure. He must outsmart the odds, survive, and emerge stronger than anyone else!

Im not even 5 hours in so take this comment either a grain of salt, but goddamn there is soooo much inner dialogue. First 4 hours are basically only inner dialogue.

Miss out the first 50 chapters you won't miss much the main character has the intelligence of drooling cabbage one minute then Einstein the next. The over reliance on superlatives and hyperbolic language, all too common in this genre, ruins the storyline as does getting rid of so many characters esp those who are more uninteresting.
It was less a story more an explanation of the inexplicable and what makes it worse it just confused other authors have done a better ther job with far less words as the saying goes Keep It Simp!e Stupid The author should have concentrated on the storyline and give the main character some morals and a personality.
The performance also disappointed with all the eextraneous noises

Very very slow start

Interesting to see a somewhat dislikable main character that isn’t just a full murder hobo.

Fun

rational MC who acknowledges he's a bit of a ... .

there is a nice contrast between the MC's humorous narration and serious, unfriendly dialogue with other characters

his difficulty processing emotions makes for someone who is relatable to myself.

I really enjoyed how attached I became to "NPCs" towards the end, along with the subtle hints of romance that felt authentic and emotional.

I do worry about the power scaling and how this might be set up to unravel badly as the story progresses into future books.

refreshingly good

I loved the book from start to finish, the performance of the voice actor, and the versatility of the writer in writing the characters, but there was something missing that I can't really put a finger on. I believe it's tied to Nathaniels stunted/numbed emotions. I could of course be wrong, but it *feels* like something's missing among all the manipulations and machiavellianism, something that would turn him from feeling kind of real, to an actual complex person. Still loved it :D

It was awesome, but...
