There's something bad in the water....

Lola Nox is the daughter of a celebrated horror filmmaker and thinks she knows all about Harrow Lake, the setting of his most famous movie.

But when her father is brutally attacked and she's sent there to stay with her reclusive grandmother, she realises the town is harbouring secrets more horrifying than she could ever have imagined. Not only is this the place where her mother disappeared without a trace, it's a town holding on to a dark past that's even more frightening than her father's movies. As Lola is drawn deeper into the town's grip, she starts to question what's real, what happened to her mother, and whether she'll ever get out of Harrow Lake alive.

bad book but good ending

to me the writing was so extremely over the top. I cringed at like every line. the story dragged on too much and it felt like everything just happened at the end. I dont know, probably one of the worst thrillers I've read. BUT the ending was honestly really good. one thing that wouldve bumped this up to 3 stars would be if the interview would be a bigger part of the book.

The word optimal is no longer optimal

aarrfgghh STOP with the word optimal!!! it was so irritating. The storyline was good, not as atmospheric and scary as I had hoped for and instantly obvious if you have studied psychology (which I haven't!) what the story is actually about. The readers were excellent though and it was an interesting listen

Must read!!!

stumbled across blackfin sky thanks to a recommendation from a reliable source and was not disappointed. On the release of Harrow lake it was a no brainer. Tuned in and as expected was captivated from the very start. Clever and fresh an absolute pleasure to read, kat Ellis is absolutely what the literature world is short of, the ability to carve into a person's imagination! Gifted. Thank you Adamx

The narrator did a great job

The storyline were alright. I like how the narrator portray the voice over for Lola and she makes it sound creepy for the whole story. She did a great job not to forget the other 2 narrator for the interview transcript who also able to portray the emotion when narrating the role.
