About this listen
Gideon Ramsay is so far in the closet he should be a talking faun.
A talented, mercurial, and often selfish man, Gideon has everything he should want in life. Fame, money, acting awards - he has it all. Everything but honesty. At the advice of his agent, Gideon has concealed his sexuality for years. But it’s starting to get harder to hide, and his increasingly wild behavior is threatening to destroy his career. Then, he’s laid low by a serious illness and into his life comes Eli Jones.
Eli is everything that Gideon can’t understand. He’s sunny tempered, friendly, and optimistic. Even worse, he’s unaffected by grumpiness and sarcasm, which forms 90 percent of Gideon’s body weight. And now, Gideon is trapped with him without any recourse to the drugs and alcohol that have previously eased his way through awkward situations.
However, as Gideon gets to know the other man, he finds himself wildly attracted to his lazy smiles and warm, scruffy charm that seem to fill a hole inside Gideon that’s been empty for a long time. Will he give in to this incomprehensible attraction when it could mean the end of everything that he’s worked for?
From the best-selling author of the Mixed Messages series comes a story about a man who needs to realize that being true to yourself is really just a form of finding home. This is the third book in the Finding Home series, but it can be listened to as a stand-alone.

I'm rhis book we meet Milos brother Gideon, who's a famous actor but deep in the closet.
Gideon has gradually drunk/drugged himself that mixed with a serious illness lands him a stay in hospital.
Eli, softly, but firm spoken make nurse is brought in to keep an eye on Gideons recuperation. He puts up with Gideons sarcasm and grumpiness to the point that he actually fancies the grumpy actor.
This book has wonderful side characters that also made me laugh.
The narration us again first glass, beautiful soft Welsh accent for Eli and a very nice neutral accent for Gideon. The contrast is so easy to listen to. Beautiful book.
Well worth the read/listen. A must have.
Great characters, voices and story

Let me preface this by saying I haven't read any of the previous books in the Finding Home series and while a lot of other characters from both this series and the Mixed Messages series make appearances, it can be read as a standalone. That said, I'll be going back and read Milo and Oz's books soon because I really liked what I saw of them in this book.
I loved Gideon from the start. He was such a hot mess, but he was damn charismatic and despite him being closeted to the rest of the world, I was never frustrated by his resolve not to come out. Maybe because he was out to everyone that mattered anyway. It took me longer to warm up to Eli and frankly, I'm not sure why, but I got there and saw how good he was for Gideon. The banter back and forth and Gideon complaining about it, but doing as Eli told him to, were probably my favorite parts in the book, aside from the undeniable chemistry between Gideon and Eli and the way the whole group accepted them both into their fold wholeheartedly.
I hated Frankie, Gideon's manager, with the fire of a thousand fires and it was so satisfying to see him get what he deserved in the end.
Joel Leslie did a good job with the narration, his Welsh accent was a tad difficult to understand in some parts and I had to go back and re-listen to certain parts, but the rest was just about as delightful as he has us used to. His Gideon was definitely a hoot!
Overall, although not my favorite Lily Morton book, it was still fun and sexy and very entertaining and I have no trouble recommending it!

He was vain, selfish and had a cruel streak.
Obviously I knew his backstory was going to be horrible which would of course soften my inclination towards him.
Would he be able to redeem himself for his own sake?
I can absolutely say that yes, he did and it was a beautiful struggle and study in healing.
Eli was the perfectly sweet and unfazed foil to Gideon's snarky and grumpy git.
Joel Leslie has of course done an implacable job of bringing these delightful characters to life.
The truth can be devastating
