By large I felt that the second book in this series didn’t bring quite as much as I’d have liked to the overall series. It was good with some character development but in general I feel as though it probably would’ve been better suited to be included in the first or third book. It didn’t feel as though enough happened in general to have been a standalone book.

I’m currently listening to the fourth book though and I’m also suspecting that this series might be best listened to as a whole rather than in 6 parts. If there were just some tidying of the books to conjoin then I think it could be best listened to like that.

Craig sounded much more comfortable narrating this one and the audio was a bit clearer too. Very happy with his performance improvement in the book.

more of the same and a switch to a more military sci fi feel. missing a central theme to draw the story forward. narrator is flat and makes it hard to follow the characters.

Story is developing very well and the world this is set in is really taking shape. The characters really are brilliant, with a few nice surprises in setting relationships between them. Really enjoy the writing style of this, some funny dialogues and situations that bring a genuine smile or laugh. Great work so far

Brilliant story in an awesome world.

This book is like Platoon movie and Starship Troopers had a baby, action packed battle full of blood, guts, aliens and napalm. The voice work, maybe its me getting used to the narrator or maybe it's his singing (don't try out for American Idol Craig). The language in the dialogue is reminiscent of late Vietnam era, a lot of non PC words some might get triggered by today, but it all falls into context and doesn't feel forced.

Overall a big improvement on the first part, hopefully the series continues to deliver in the same fashion."
