Have you ever felt like you were destined for greater things?

Great love story and a cracker fantasy

As for the plot, it is fairly good. But up to book 3 (the first 2 chapters) the character development of the main lead is underdeveloped.
Separate point: you could switch out Demon for human or a bug to any race you could think of and very little would be changed! There is no observable trait unique to the whole demon race that was seen. Maybe I'm just upset that the main lead isn't a little more aggressive to those that need it.

Alyssa and Evan are solid narrators as ever, though Alyssa has better range and Evan mispronounces too many things.
Shame Alyssa tends to be the support and not the main narrator.
The characters are decent enough and varied, though most of them are kind of dumb and make some mind bogglingly silly choices.
The spicy stuff is fine, strictly vanilla and nothing too interesting but well performed.
Story line? Kinda dull to be honest and rather predictable with ffffffaaaaarrrr too many instance of people going off alone and things going horribly wrong because of it.
Which keeps happening.
The biggest offender though, is the setting and general premise.
It's frankly, an ill conceived mess.
Fine, demons are a thing and they live in Hell.
BUT, for 90% of the time Hell may as well be Earth, as beyond magic being common and public there is essentially no difference.
The demons are basically just specialist wizards and almost didn't need to be demons at all.
And the modern setting is very badly integrated.
Fine, you want a modern college atmosphere, you want modern tropes and personality archetypes but why do people keep forgetting about modern tech?
There are so many times when making a phone call or taking video footage would have been the sensible thing.
Why do the fights on Earth don't involve the humans shooting at them?
Why aren't their magic enhanced guns in the demon world?
This would have worked far better as a Victorian or Edwardian setting, especially if you keep ignoring tech being a thing.
Got as far as the start of book 3 before I got too bored to carry on.
There is far better out there, both in setting, story, narration and spicy content, so give this one a miss.
