Summary

While sheltered in the clan's stronghold, Syssi is unaware that Kian and Amanda are not human, and neither are the supposedly religious fanatics that are after her. She feels a powerful connection to Kian, and as he introduces her to a world of pleasure she never dared imagine, his dominant sexuality is a revelation. Considering that she's completely out of her element, Syssi feels comfortable and safe letting go with him. That is, until she begins to suspect that all is not as it seems. Piecing the puzzle together, she draws a scary, yet wrong conclusion...Kian and Syssi's story culminates in Book 3 of the series: Dark Stranger Immortal, and the characters embark on a new adventure in book 4: Dark Enemy Taken.

Hooked!

Any additional comments?

In the last two months, I have read/listened to the entire series and have pre-ordered the next book! I haven’t picked up another series during this time. Normally I listen to one series and read another. I could not put these books down.

I have never read any series like this one. I absolutely love that throughout the books you still hear what is going on with the previous characters. Instead of each book having its own story, it is more like one long story where new people get introduced as events happen. For me, this is the right balance of paranormal content. Nothing to crazy but just outside the realm of possibility.

Oh, I almost forgot the 2nd Best thing about this series is there is a new book every few months. :) It is not like other series where you have to wait a year or more for the next. I personally have to re-read the old book before the new release (I go through WAY too many books to remember all the details of a story I read a year ago). With only a few months between, I still remember all the details and keep track of the next release date.

I.T Lucas - please continue to write these stories for as long as possible. I am in love with all the characters and don’t want to let them go.

pretty steamy

Finally some sex. the first book was sorely lacking. this one made me hot. I can't stand how the characters are a little dumb where the heart is concerned though.

What Just Happened !?

Spoilers!!! 1st book in series ...Goood, even if it did seem to end abruptly. This 2nd book though. Oh, right nothing happened. Syssi & Michael's premonitions are apparently nonexistent. While the Doomers (Stereotyped middle-eastern men) are planning (not doing) to kidnap Near-Immortals. Yep, the whole painfully awkward relationship between Syssi & Kian goes nowhere. Elevator sex sceen reminded me of old Nicholas Cage movie when he thought he was a vampire. That made me Laugh, but also shows my mind was so bored it needed to supply something interesting for me to think about.
Any possibly interesting characters, like the nursing home ladys, are never even mentioned. And the appearance of Sissi's brother Andrew is teased but not fulfilled.
There's interesting talk like the Near-Immortals enjoyed a society that was free from gender bias, but with the way they treat their one female warrior(Yes just 1) you wouldn't know it. I'm not even remotely interested in Syssi & Kian after finishing this book. Considered skipping to Book 4 to read about Dahnu and Amanda, but I've got Better Books waiting to be experienced. I just want to mention that the Narrator did a really good job at making each character distinct and bringing some life to the book.

Good

I like the story. This is one of those series that has alot of character introductions in the beginning. But the characters and world are developing in a great way. I do think they could have chosen a better fit for the narrator. In my head I feel like the characters are more assertive but he makes them sound a little to docile and submissive. It doesnt flow right to me. that's my 2 cents anyway. I will keep reading/listening

Much better

This book was sooo much better than the first book. I still dislike how it cuts off immediately. There is no ending it just stops. I am absolutely intrigued so I will be moving on to the next book in the series. I wonder about the Syssie's brother being a dormant and also the cockie enemy guy turning from his path of bad to good. I wonder if he'll end up with Amanda. I guess I'll have to wait and see.

another great addition to the series

(I will note that the audio version wouldn't work past the 6th page-I had to download trough my audible app to get it to work)

That said, I still really enjoy watching the characters develop. Along with the story line & plot. I have ideas how this might work out, however, it remains to be seen whether my foresight will come to fruition.
On to book 3- happy reading!

I Couldn't Put it Down!!!

I. T. Lucas and Charles Lawrence are a DYNAMITE pair. As like Book One of "Dark Stranger, The Dream" I found it to hard to pause, each chapter drawing me in farther and farther, until I realized a was now finished with Book Two.

Nope

I wasn't into the first book, but thought that maybe it would be better in the second. Nope. Boring, misogynistic sociopaths. Just nope.
