New York Times bestselling author Robert Dugoni's acclaimed series continues as Tracy Crosswhite is thrown headlong into the path of a killer conspiracy.

While investigating the hit-and-run death of a young boy, Seattle homicide detective Tracy Crosswhite makes a startling discovery: the suspect is an active-duty serviceman at a local naval base. After a key piece of case evidence goes missing, he is cleared of charges in a military court. But Tracy knows she can't turn her back on this kind of injustice.

When she uncovers the driver's ties to a rash of recent heroin overdoses in the city, she realizes that this isn't just a case of the military protecting its own. It runs much deeper than that, and the accused wasn't acting alone. For Tracy, it's all hitting very close to home.

As Tracy moves closer to uncovering the truth behind this insidious conspiracy, she's putting herself in harm's way. And the only people she can rely on to make it out alive might be those she can no longer trust.

What an emotionally charged story of loss and courage. This book was hard to read on some levels but it was all encompassing too. Love this series and all these characters. Can’t wait to read and listen to the next book now. Great narration too.

Tracy Crosswhite is the best detective I have had the pleasure to meet. He reasoning skills are brilliant. I love Dan and their relationship. It was a pleasure to listen to this book. I couldn’t put it down.

Intriguing

This book starts off well and like all of the Tracey Crosswhite series there's a good crime she's gonna solve but to be honest it gets sorted pretty quick and you can guess whodunit! The rest is love lives and hip ops! I've read the series up til now so this one won't put me off but it's not on par as the others.

Good but not as good as the other's in the series

I love the Tracy Crosswhite series but found this hard going in places. Listened to the whole story a second time and enjoyed it a lot more, despite knowing 'whodunit'. Great narration as always. Wish the author didn't put 'he said/she said' so often but great other than that.

Complex story with many twists

This series is so addictive and action packed, it has a good balance of personal drama and tracking down serial killers. I love how fast you get to know the characters and care about them and you get swept up in the excitement and sadness of there lives. Another big plus is that it's so easy listening and there is hardly any swearing in it at all.
