About this listen

A newbie Seattle detective gets an education in corruption in a short story that explores Detective Castigliano’s origins in the Seattle PD by Robert Dugoni, the Amazon Charts and Wall Street Journal bestselling author of the Tracy Crosswhite series.

His old life in the rearview, Del Castigliano has left Wisconsin to work homicide for the Seattle PD. Breaking him in is veteran detective Moss Gunderson, and he’s handing Del a big catch: the bodies of two unidentified men fished from Lake Union. It’s a major opportunity for the new detective, and Del runs with it, chasing every lead - to every dead end. Despite the help of another section rookie, Vic Fazzio, Del is going nowhere fast. Until one shotgun theory looks to be dead right: the victims are casualties of a drug smuggling operation. But critical information is missing - or purposely hidden. It’s forcing Del into a crisis of character and duty that not even the people he trusts can help him resolve.

I enjoyed Mr Dugoni’s narration and the rest of the family enjoyed listening too. Are we going to hear more of Del and his efforts to extricate himself from Moss’s web?
I’ve read just about everything Robert Dugoni has written and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Having followed Tracy Crosswhite from the academy through to marriage and baby I’m wondering if another series is being launched?

Where or when is the next instalment?

Some people are born to act, write or narrate and sorry Robert but please stick to writing the book!!
I was actually quite excited to listen to this one, because Robert was doing the narrative himself, but oh my, oh my indeed!!
Listening to Robert droning on was akin to nails down a blackboard!! It was lacking any enthusiasm, any charisma, monotone and tediously unvarying!! There was just one voice for everyone and it was tiresome!! I just hope this was his one and done for narrating, as I know I could never let myself go through that again!! I love the story, but the rest blah!!

Oh dear!!

What happened - it just finished???? The story was building nicely and then cam to an abrupt end as if the author had reached his word count. I feel cheated.

This is a short prequel

Nothing wrong with the story as such - however it is only just over an hour! Appreciate this is advertised but have never checked before and all books have been several hours - including all of Robert Dugoni’s other books.
Disappointing in the end as I feel a lot more could have been written to build on the plot.
Left me feeling ripped off!

Just too short
