Summary

The most dangerous place to hide is in the dark....

A tough special agent with the Department of Justice and a dedicated single mother to her orphaned nephews, Samantha Chase is unbreakable. Until two women, both from the shadows of Sam's past, are discovered strangled. For Sam, the most unnerving detail is the eucalyptus branch tucked behind the victims' ears - the signature of a notorious serial murderer already convicted and executed for his crimes.

To Detective Nick Thomas, the only link to the copycat killings is Sam herself. And when she becomes the target of threats - each one more menacing than the last - his feelings for her just might jeopardize the case.

But to understand the killer's twisted motive is to explore Sam's past - and a crime she's spent a lifetime trying to bury....

Okay

This is the weakest of the ten Danielle Gerard novels I have read. It is still worthwhile.

Enjoyable psychological thriller

Special Agent Sam Chase escaped an abusive childhood only to end up in a verbally abusive marriage…that was years ago. Now Sam is balancing life as a single mom to her twin nephews and all is well until it isn’t. Mothers who have abused their children are being murdered…but with the MO of a dead serial killer. The evidence points to Sam. Can Sam and her friend, Detective Nick Thomas, solve the case before her career is destroyed? I really enjoyed this story…the ending had me in tears…

great story

such a great story. it's all very sad though A LOT of child molestation though... a lot of DECRIPTIVE child molestation. I usually steer clear of this when looking for a book. The whole book was based on it, from many points of view. My only PERSONAL issue is its hard for me to read a book about so much pain and suffering, then to have the book end in ANOTHER sad situation, just left me feeling melancholy and realived the book was over. now I'm off to read something a bit lighter.

Horrible

This book was both haunting and disturbing on multiple levels! I couldn’t finish the book, due to the vivid details and accounts both from the predators thoughts and creepy feelings, and the actual victims experience! Absolutely disgusting! Save ur credits for something else!
