About this listen

Expectations. Rules. Perfection. Aurora's life is dictated by everyone else's rules and expectations. One night, one man changes everything. It's a split-second decision that might just change her life, one broken rule at a time. Together, Aurora and Landon begin an adventure of rule-breaking, undeniable chemistry, and hot sex. It's a whirlwind of giving and losing control.

Aurora is just out of university, living in London and studying to become a teacher, when she meets Landon Peters, the unprofessional, sexy-as-hell, British billionaire CEO. He's seductive, downright naughty, and yet somehow, still a perfect English gentleman.

When shocking secrets are revealed and their lives begin to unravel, will this socialite and British bad boy be able to put their rules aside or will it all erupt in scandal?

Can this British bad boy and pretty English socialite build a future together, or is what they have really just sex?

This is a great book. I really enjoyed the multiple POV. I love how Aurora is finding herself by breaking all her parents rules. On the other hand Landon is breaking all of his rules for her. This book ends on one heck of a cliffhanger! Can't wait to see what happens next.

I don’t know how to describe Broken Rules. Landon is a man who has rules, rules to maintain his control. Aurora is out to break the rules she’s lived by her entire life, rules that were placed upon her by her parents. Landon and Aurora shouldn’t mix, but they do. Add in family drama, money and appearances and I’m not sure where this series will end up. This story kind of plods forward at a steady pace, but also goes back some when the POV is switched so that you can see both POV’s for the one event. It’s different but not unwelcome. Overall Broken Rules is a fun story and I look forward to seeing what will happen with Landon and Aurora and their both their family’s secrets.

This is an interesting story although I found it a little slow in places. Unfortunately the narrators voice was not for me.

This was a great start to the series! Hanleigh is still a pretty new author to me and I was excited to take a chance on her contemporary romance series. I liked the dual POV, steam scenes, and characters within this story.
Everyone sees Aurora as picture perfect and she’s sick of not being able to live her life the way she wants. Landon doesn’t see the same woman twice, doesn’t date, and is seen by most as heartless. Both Aurora and Landon have their own set of rules and they find themselves breaking them for one another. The chemistry between Aurora and Landon is explosive and it’s nice seeing them both out of their comfort zone. Their story has so much potential and I can’t wait to see what happens next!
Stacy did a good job with the narration. I liked how well she voiced Aurora and brought her character to life, but I feel like her male voice for Landon was forced and gravelly. I also thought it was an odd choice to use an American narrator instead of a British one since the main characters are British.

The first book in the Rules series, we are treated to Aurora and Landon. Each have their own set of rules they have been living by, and now are breaking them all. Aurora, always the good girl has made the decision to start living by her own rules, not her parents. Landon keeps all women at arm's length, but there is something about Rory. Chemistry drives this story, and lets us take a trip with these two as they discover each other. Family secrets revealed, only each other to confide in, it's a great beginning and I can't wait to see where Bradley takes us with this couple.

Shelby Hughes gives a good performance. At times its had to determine who is speaking, but she does capture all the feelings and emotions of the characters. I do wish it was with a British accent, as the writing reflects the London brogue.

Great start to the series!
