About this listen

Ziba Mackenzie profiles killers. Now one is profiling her.

Rush hour, London. A packed commuter train is torn apart in a collision. Picking through the carnage, ex-special forces profiler Ziba MacKenzie helps a dying woman who passes on a cryptic message: He did it. You have to tell someone.

When a corpse is found bearing the gruesome signature of a serial killer dormant for twenty-five years, Ziba is pulled into the hunt for the perpetrator. As the body count rises it becomes clear he’s on a new spree. But what’s brought the London Lacerator back after such a long hiatus? And does his sudden return have anything to do with the woman on the train?

Ziba scrambles to profile the killer in the hope of predicting his next move. But time is running out. And the closer she gets to uncovering his identity, the closer he gets to destroying hers.

Amazing narration with this book, thank you Karen Cass you brought this book to life an amazing story 10/10 for your narration and 5 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Brilliantly narration

Once you get over the first person narrative (which I always struggle with) the story progresses nicely but without any surprises. It's not a bad book and if it were a little more polished, would have been far better. Very straightforward storytelling that rolls along at pace. The narration was good and brought the central character to life for me.
SPOILER
I found the ending a little problematic as I felt it was a bit drippy and dated - Ziba ends up with the annoyingly condescending Jack. Really? That jarred with me. I thought Ziba was too much the modern woman to be falling into a mans arms and saying "You saved me".
Worth the discount price I paid but I would feel shortchanged if I had paid full price.

Not a bad storyline - until the end SPOILER

I have given a 2 star rating but honestly I couldn't get past chapter 43 before I gave up! It feels like the author wanted to reference fats/summaries of serial killer cases - then a story created around this. I didn't like the main character who seems to be at odds with anyone who doesn't appreciate her status as a profiler (but pretends she doesn't mind). This is just my opinion up to chapter 43; may have ended better but I couldn't spend any more time listening.

completely broken up, pieces missing (3-4 words at a time) sounds like an unemotional AI reading it. dreadful sound quality, I couldn't listen to it, complete waste of money!

This wasn't for me. I found the slang irritating, the thoughts processes messy and I couldn't wait for it to end.

Simplistic thriller
