Would you recommend Because She Loves Me to your friends? Why or why not?

I'd tell them that the first 90% of the story was very gripping. The menace of a disturbed mind was very well described and made this the audio version of a page turner. The denouement was less than satisfactory, though. It's difficult to explain why without spoiling the plot, but in my opinion the author would have done better to have avoided the "twist" and just gone with what appeared to be the obvious.

What about Napoleon Ryan’s performance did you like?

Very good regional accents and male/female portrayal.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

In a way I'm glad I didn't listen all in one sitting because if I had done so I would feel that 10+hrs had been a bit of a waste, given my disappointment with the ending. As it is, I had roughly 9 separate hours of satisfied listening when I was gripped by the plot, followed by a final disappointing hour.

readers female voices sounded like drag artists. accents well done generally however.

This book started off as an ok Paranoid "Am I am or am I not being Stalked by my ill paranoid murderess girlfriend?" and then all changed just as we expected it to. So predictable.

Yes the book is a page turner if you like Depressing reading with that low factor. I listened to the end simply because I wanted to know which of his army of ex ill in the head girlfriends was responsible. So it was a huge let down.

By the time that I had reached the end I was ready to accept any of the paranoid ill women - Yes exactly; this is a book based on one ill guy who has no real male friends but a lot of ex cracked up females who find him so irresistible (one or two is fine but all these women after one sodden guy?)
Narrator Napoleon Ryan excels his drag artistic skills which he is renown and is perfect for the foul characters who are supposed to be female. Thank heavens I do not know of any women who are like these.

Never again. Once is enough. There are shelves of books like this and that is where they can stay; on the shelf.
