Ragnarok is near and the Vikings of Midgard have failed to uphold their duty to prevent it. With time running out, the All-Father Odin himself, searches all the worlds for one last warrior who might hold back the destruction threatening Nine Realms and every world created.

Magnus’s death caught the All-Father’s one good eye.

Great book 1. Interesting world, magic system based around runes, and portals to other realms. Looking forward to book 2 audible release.

Really well written combat, with brutal and fast paced fight scenes. A nice little bit of humour mixed in with a fairly well imagined world setting. Overall an enjoyable book

I've listened to a lot of books on audible. Including the whole Sherlock Holmes collection. This authors writing is most like those stories, with brilliant descriptions and choice of words. The story is also fantastic, definitely my sort of story. Great battle descriptions. The reading is done brilliantly, good voices and fantastic narrating.

The main issue for me is I listen to this while working and I had to keep rewinding because so much happens in a few sentences, That's mainly my fault though.

I'll be looking at other books by this author. I hope they are voiced as beautifully as this.

Arrogant, obnoxious and annoying MC, that survives past opening chapter only due to extremely bad writing. Lets start by insulting and blackmailing Odin who for some idiotic reason submits just to get some idiotic military nut who got himself killed to join him. The MC has 0 charisma and 0 interest in the story
