Summary

He’s all sharp edges and ready to cut. Aiden has walls up a mile high and won’t let anyone in. It’s frustrating. And challenging. When we’re paired up to solve a case for our criminal investigation class, it’s the perfect time to get closer. The project turns hot when one kiss leads to another. And then to more. I’m ready for something special, something permanent.

Not Aiden. He’s new to relationships and the complications they bring. When our ambitions clash, it’s my emotions that are in a jumble. We both want into the FBI. Can I handle it if only one of us makes it?

I can’t believe I’m stuck working with him. Bryce is too hot for his own good. And why does he smile so much? When we’re paired up on a university project, I want to scream. There’s no way to change it. Well, no legal way. And my hacking days are behind me. Mostly.

The sparks fly hot and fast as we work together, but Bryce isn’t the guy for me. I don’t even like him. At all. But after one smokin’ kiss I can’t stop thinking about him. Damn it. Falling for a tattoo artist isn’t in my plan. Good thing I’ve always been terrible at following the rules.

Spicy

This story had a lot of great parts to it. It was funny, spicy, interesting and over all quite enjoyable. Would reccomend this to people who enjoy a bad boy gone good, enemies to lovers story arc.

Surprisingly sweet for a rivalry romance

I was really excited about the concept of this rivals-to-lovers romance, and I thought it was executed nicely! Connor Brown's narration was nicely done, and I thought his interpretation of these characters was great. Aiden and Bryce had sparks right from the start, and it was so much fun to see their heated encounters shift from annoyance to sexual tension as they tried to deny their attraction to each other. On top of their entertaining banter and nerd talk, Aiden and Bryce understood each other on a deep, emotional level that made their romance feel wonderfully realistic. The way these two were so aware of their own flaws was a pleasant surprise, and it warmed me to see that even during their arguments they took care not to turn back to old habits to push each other away. I'll admit that I wasn't a huge fan of how the job competition ended up, because I don't really understand why the agents were so clearly biased towards one guy over the other. I was also kinda expecting Aiden and Bryce's hacker past to catch up with them somehow, but that whole plotline faded away. Despite my dissatisfaction with the FBI storyline, I really enjoyed the conclusion to Aiden and Bryce's journey. I would have liked to see a little bit more about what happened after they moved to DC, but either way I know the two of them are happily settled and in love.

Great Story & Narration🎧 Enjoyable & Entertaining!

This is a great enemies/rivals to lovers romance, the story is well written with interesting storylines that are captivating from start to end. The characters are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with. I liked the two lead characters, Aiden and Bryce, both are in college and taking the same criminal investigations class with hopes of landing a job with the FBI. The professor of the class decides to pair students up to solve cases and offers a great incentive to the ones who solves their case first. Aiden is not thrilled to be paired up with Bryce but he is determined to make it work, he needs that job, not just for the money but to prove himself to his parents who disowned him. Bryce is not your average college student, but he has his eyes on the prize a job with the FBI, he has his own reasons for wanting the job. It turns out these two have more in common than they think, they have analytical minds and areh are great with working computers and finding things out. They work thru their angst and soon find the chemistry between them is electric. I enjoyed how everything played out in this book, the story is plotted out nicely with plenty of drama, angst, heartfelt and emotional moments and a great romance. Ali Lyda, thank you for another great story.

🎧📚🎧And for the wonderful narration, Connor Brown did a great job portraying the characters, bringing them to life, giving each their own distinct voice and personality, making it easy to follow along and tell who is who. He sets the perfect tone for the story, captures all the character’s emotions and projects them into his performance. He is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for the great listen🎧

Series gets better and better especially in audio

This is a really interesting take on the grumpy/sunshine and "enemies" to lovers tropes. Here we have two men in the same criminology class vying for grades and a chance for a career with the FBI. When they are partnered on a project their attraction becomes apparent and they discover just how hot they can be together. However, ambition just might drive them apart. Watching Bryce get under Aiden's skin and learning just why he is so defensive and reluctant to open himself up to a relationship made for a wonderful story. This series continues to deepen and get better and better. I read this as a e-book before listing to the audiobook and I cannot commend Connor Brown's performance enough. It took almost no time for any voices I'd had in my head when reading this to be subsumed by his voices for these characters. Their competitiveness and their attraction was perfectly captured.

Another great story

This entire series has been unbelievably well done. This book, though, kind of disappointed me a bit in the fact that the members of Get Ink'd were hardly mentioned. It seems like they've all been a huge part of the story lines in the last books and this is the first that had two MC's that were more periphery. I did love their story, though. It was almost an enemies to lovers... two students, about to graduate, both up for the same job. It's definitely one to listen to!!

Good listen.

I was excited for this book to come out on audio and I wasn’t disappointed. The story itself was interesting and the couple as great together as I anticipated. Connor Brown did a good job with the narration. There was room for improvements all around but overall a good listen.

Great addition

Ali Lyda did it again by adding a great story to the series. Was not sure about the story with the teaser at the end of Hard Ink, but Ali Lyda surprised me with an addictive listening experience. Bryce and Aiden where a fantastic couple to get to know. Connor Brown did a super job with the voices. Now the wait for Forbidd0ed Ink.
