About this listen

No one's ever caught me thinking with my manhood.

Being demisexual means attraction doesn't always come easy. And it has a way of knocking me off my feet. I can't want Joel. I'm pretty sure he's scared of me, and we're working together.

It's a recipe for disaster.

Too bad my emotions say otherwise. And once they start talking, my body starts listening. I've been screwed by love before. Is Joel worth taking the risk?

There’s no need to get bent out of shape over one hot guy.

Managing talent puts me in the path of plenty of attractive men, so there's no reason to freak out every time I see Kyzer. Besides being gorgeous, he's covered in ink and as intimidating as they come. You'd never know from looking at him how gentle he is. He's a client and no matter how much I want him, he's off limits.

There are lines in this business that you can't cross. I know it's best for both of our careers. But what if throwing out the rules leads us down the path to happily ever after?

This story was just ok for me. I enjoy learning about diverse sexualities, but I have to admit the demi-sexual portrayal threw me. It was as if Kyzer himself didn't know when he was attracted to someone, and when he was ready for more. I did like the way he and Joel learned about and supported each other at first. Then Kyzer suddenly went from all calm and supportive to needy and whiny. There is a big blow-up between Joel and Kyzer that seemed overdone. Joel was obviously under a lot of stress and took way too much blame for his brother's actions. I'm not sure why Kyzer had his melt-down. It seemed pretty selfish. I was glad they worked it all out, though. Two threads didn't seem complete to me. Danny didn't really seem like he learned anything, and Peyton seemed to be a big deal at first that didn't really match his attitude at the end. I also think Kyzer's refusal to even consider forgiving Peyton will end up hurting him (Kyzer) in the end. Anyway, these are my opinions. If you have enjoyed the series so far, give this a try. It just didn't work for me.

The narration was pretty good, but I have to admit. the calm, soothing tone actually lulled me to sleep a couple times while I was listening.

This is a brill book and I really enjoyed following Kyzer and Joel as their chemistry blossoms, they also have past feelings and family problems to deal with.

MM opposites attract, gay/demi romance, book 7 in the series, can be read as a stand-alone. First book featuring the new LA branch of Get Ink'd. Easy to listen to, some angst and insecurities but lots of love and passion. Kyzer is relatively inexperienced as people find it hard to understand his demi sexuality and he finds it hard to trust due to his past. Joel is instantly attracted to Kyzer but is constantly working and finds it hard to take time for himself, its only when they meet outside of work that things start to change for them. loved the latest story in the series but I wasn't 100% keen on the narration as a couple of the characters voices grated on me.

Not Letting Their Fears Win.

I wasn't sure what to expect from the LA crew, but Kyzer and Joel's story was every bit as swoony as the others in this series! Despite how shy and non-confrontational Kyzer was, I felt like I got to know him really well in this story, and it was easy to fall in love with his calm, loyal personality. Listening to how he and Joel circled each other in the beginning was equal parts cute and cringey, but where their romance really won me over was when they shed their fear and decided to get to know each other outside the workplace. Their initial dates were absolutely adorable, and though they may have been slow to get physical that didn't make their connection feel any less explosive. The emotional depth of their relationship kinda blew my mind, and the small, quiet ways they cared for one anther were too sweet for words. This audio dealt with some pretty heavy themes (past loss of a loved one, consequences of addiction), but instead of being weighed down by guilt and trauma, Kyzer and Joel lifted each other up. It was wonderfully fulfilling to see the two of them support each other in their times of need, and even though they went through a rough patch in the middle I had faith they'd find their way back together. I appreciate how self-reflective and honest they were about their flaws and shortcomings during their reconciliation, and it was nice to see characters display maturity and openness instead of doubling down on their toxic behaviors. All in all, I think this might be my favorite romance of the series so far!
