After listening to volume 1, I had high hopes for volume 2 and this did not disappoint.

The way it builds lulls you into a false sense of security before plopping you right into the chaos and filth. From body horror that makes The Thing seem tame, to the genuine heartbreak of human cruelty. This volume had me laughing and gagging at the same time! And I loved it. The gentle delivery from Stefan Shaw does nothing to dampen the horrifying journey you’re taken on, and how it ends! I’ll let you experience that for yourself.

This was truly something different from the usual audiobooks I listen to and any horror fan should experience these audiobooks.

This follow-up cranks everything up: the office drudgeryand the dark humour that makes you laugh, wince, and gag in the same breath. The slow, mundane build lulls you into a false sense of security before reality unravels into something filthy, paranoid, and strangely heartbreaking. The calm, intimate narration makes the whole thing feel like a bad dream you can’t wake from, balancing dry wit with genuinely disturbing moments.. If you’ve ever suffered a toxic workplace and enjoy your horror twisted, surreal, and uncomfortably relatable, this is an essential listen.

This macabre tale of a workplace straight out of hell made me wince, laugh and even gag at times. It's a brilliant listen, just try not to have nightmares afterwards.

Darkly imaginative and wickedly witty

I absolutely LOVE the Darkly franchise, but this second series really takes it up a notch. We move from the childhood horrors of series 1 to the depressingly real adult horrors of the working world in series 2. Our dry, wry narrator is plagued with visions and encounters as horrific as the actions of his boss, his colleagues, and the corporate treadmill slowly eating at his soul. As somebody who has worked in agencies for many years, I can confirm the characters are relatable, the dreads and desires are real, and the moments hiding in the toilet are spot on! Gruesome moments of picture-perfect horror conjure the weird, close-to-home discomfort of David Lynch in this wonderful, viscerally creepy homage to the genre of horror. An absolute MUST listen, with some surprisingly poignant and even, dare I say, beautiful writing: “I’m a turd… I’m drowning in everyone’s shit, I’m slipping slowly into the abyss, at one with a universe of unwanted matter.”

We’ve all been there, narrator. We’ve all been there. More please, Stefan Shaw! 😈

Absolute freakiness - a tale of relatable, grotesque burnout for workers crushed by the system and stomped flat by life.

This surreal horror ride cranks up everything that made Volume 1 so good. The 90s ad-agency setting is a perfect pressure cooker for dread, and the body-horror weirdness pairs brilliantly with the dark humour, building a vivid, off-kilter terrifying world that can make you shudder, laugh, and gag in the same breath.

The narration feels intimate and dreamlike — unsettling but strangely comforting. If you like horror that’s stylish, psychological, and a little surreal, you will love this.

A seriously great listen.

Twisted, dreamy, and wildly addictive.
