A BRAND NEW historical mystery brimming with buried secrets, obsession and forbidden love set on the wild English coast. The perfect gothic page-turner for fans of Stacey Hall’s The Familiars, Eve Chase’s The Midnight Hour and Erin Morgenstern’s The Night Circus.

He has arrived at Thistlewick House for revenge. But the dead have other ideas…

Norfolk, England, 1895: When renowned spiritualist Edward Blackmore is summoned by his cousin to a remote village on the Norfolk coast, his first thought is revenge. Because his cousin once stole everything from him. Including the woman he loved.

So when Edward strides into Thistlewick House, it’s his cousin’s wife Emma he’s really come for. Except, by the time he arrives, he’s too late. Emma has died, and in the most strange and unusual circumstances.

His cousin believes there are supernatural forces at play. But Edward – who has falsely claimed to be able to communicate with the lost spirits of the dead for years – is convinced murder is afoot. As he begins to investigate, he finds himself drawn into the lives of those in this isolated and unnerving village, especially that of the beguiling woman he keeps meeting on the beach.

But each answer he seeks leads to even more questions. And he may have to accept that perhaps not everything at Thistlewick House is quite what it seems…

From Jenni Keer, the bestselling author of No. 23, Burlington Square and The Ravenswood Witch, comes a gripping historical novel with a twist that you won’t see coming!

It's so different and interesting. I loved the mystery that was more prevalent than the romance. However when romance did come into it, it wasn't cheesy or predictable.

What a fantastic story!

Could have been so much better, but it felt as if the author was always trying to convey a moral lesson, The writing (in parts) was inappropriate for the era it is set and it was all SO predictable. Unimpressed.
