Story and narration spot on!

The story was great, I only wished it was longer. I can't wait to listen to the others when they are released.
As for the narration, it was perfect, his voice suited Dan down to a T. His voice was clearly spoken and wasn't in the slightest irritating.

Well done Curt for the perfect narration, I hope you narate the other books when they are released!

Great litrpg zombie apocalypse Batman!

Great book 🙂 the character is kind of a dumbass but he's a likable one and a badass to boot. The system is cool and the characters well done. Fun, violence, and chocolate. Go read/listen to it!

A great new LITRPG series by a phenomenal author

I happen to greatly enjoy Locke’s books so finding a new series with him is awesome. Our scenario is post apocalypse. Everyone has new powers, stats and the opportunity to advance in this new society. The cost? Killing others. And trying not to die yourself. Unless you are like the mc who is a respawner. Great action, great characters. The narration is spot on. I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator or publisher

Fun story, doesn't take itself seriously.

I've now read this and listened to the audiobook. This is a system apocalypse style book which is right in line with my taste but it has some differences like re-spawns. The rules don't make a ton of sense as of finishing the first novel as everyone seems to be following different ones but it makes up for that by painting a good picture. The main character will be either a hit or miss with readers he was a hit with me and the novel enjoys poking fun at a few stereotypes which I found amusing. The narrator did a well enough job bringing the book to life. Overall it's a fun read or listen for a few hours and if you like system apocalypse style stories you will probably enjoy this.

TLDR: great narrating okayish story

The performance was legit I enjoyed every moment of it. However the story was hit or miss. The respawn timer and dying was a bit weak

Was a great listen.

I really enjoyed this one. I want to see more of the world. The MC can be a bit dense, but I honestly found that refreshing.

awesome but too short

Man the main character is a tool of the highest proportions, He's pretty dumb and kind of unlikable but the book and mc himself are quite aware of his issues. The mc gets super lucky with his start but makes completely terrible decisions and is continually getting wrecked for his own stupidity.

good narration, the comedy is pretty good, overall quite fun.

however

I really hope Wolfe only does this with their first books in a series to gage interest. because so far both series from them I have listened to have been excellent.I saw there will also be a dungeon core from them soon as well, and I expect that will also be awesome.

I 5* recommend the content of this book, but I have a problem recommending spending a credit on a book this short.

I received a free copy of this book for review purposes.

Solid start to a new series

This book is a good litrpg where the MC understands he is making stupid choices but towards the end of the book he starts to correct them showing character development and the way the book is it opens up to city development and world development in the next book. I’m excited to see where this goes.

rushing is fun

Frustratingly fun with the somewhat incompetent MC, as he simply doesn't stop to think half the time, but the writing and storytelling is solid enough that it never ruins the story.

Curt is a great narrator that brings life to the written word in a way I wish I could

Goofy but fun

If you're looking for a fun and a bit goofy action oriented LitRPG I recommend this one highly. it had me chuckling to myself while listening to it and is a great example of how to make a strong character who isn't over powered. so far the supporting cast is limited but I look forward to more in book two!

I was given a review copy of this book on exchange for an unbiased review.

fun!

Good story and narration!

The apocalypse has started but Dan missed the beginning of it because he was passed out drunk. Now he must figure out what's going on quickly because the new apocalyptic gamified world is very unforgiving.

Kurt does a good job with the narration and really brings the story to life!

This was a fun story I'm curious to find out what happens next.

Stupid MC but otherwise fantastic

The story as a whole is great. I just have issues with the fact the main character makes super stupid decisions.. but that’s just how I feel about the story.. The quality and value of the production is amazing I just hope the mc redeems his famously shit decisions in the next book
