About this listen

'Innumerable gems . . . by one of the company's most astute observers' - Economist

THE UNVARNISHED PICTURE OF AMAZON’S UNPRECEDENTED GROWTH AND ITS BILLIONAIRE FOUNDER, JEFF BEZOS

Almost ten years ago, Bloomberg journalist Brad Stone captured the rise of Amazon in his bestseller The Everything Store. Since then, Amazon has expanded exponentially, disrupting countless industries while its valuation has soared to well over a trillion dollars. We now live in a world run, supplied and controlled by Amazon and its founder.

In Amazon Unbound, Stone presents a vividly drawn portrait of how a retail upstart became one of the most powerful and feared entities in the global economy. With unparalleled access to current and former executives, employees and critics, he shows how seismic changes inside the company led to dramatic innovations, as well as to missteps that turned public sentiment against the company.

Authoritative, timely and revelatory, Amazon Unbound is the definitive account of a man and company we couldn’t imagine modern life without.

Amazon unbound becomes risks becoming unhinged at points.

The authors other Amazon based book 'The Everything Store' shed a light into the back corners and told the reader a lot about Amazon this is a biography of Jeff Bezos written by the same guy - some of the same subject matter is touched, some content and themes carried over but it's a different thing. It dips into relationships with law makers, other tech giants the world of celebrity but never really seems to answer any questions.

It is a good book, well researched, slightly differential to Amazon and Bezos.

Loved this book. Helps understand the incredible culture of Amazon, the way the business *actually* works, his rivalry with Elon Musk and an unputdownable sequence on his affair and subsequent information war with the National Enquirer.

Excellent book on Bezos and his many battles

It was a good insight to the empire of Amazon and jeff Bezos. I got the feel he is our John D. Rokefeller or Carnegie of our era
