Sentiment without sentimentality, wit without smartaleckary. Mr Bennett is a master of turning the commonplace into the fascinating.

The greatest living playwright.

Loved every single second. Wonderful. Beyond brilliant. My okay criticism would be Audible why aren’t there titles on the chapters do listeners can easily find a play? It’s ridiculous.
But Mr Alan Bennett what a genius and the plays themselves are performed so well. The bits of commentary by Bennett are helpful too. The casts great

Beyond brilliant - but please put titles on the chapters!

Some brilliant story's though one or two I struggled with probably make more sense listening to them again, on the whole very enjoyable.

Entertaining listening

Loved these plays. A wonderful writer with an illuminating sideways view of life. Funny, sardonic, gentle and at times sharp as a rasor blade Alan Bennet lays it all out as he sees it. Brilliant.

Alan Bennet rocks!!!!

I enjoyed this collection of plays. Well worth listening too. Also kept me entertained on a long coach journey to Belgium. Which would have otherwise been very boring indeed.

Really enjoyable
