Very fun book, with an interesting take on super powers. Kinda a cross between Japanese/ Korean manga and western superhero stuff, I enjoyed it a lot and will be listening to book 2 as well.

i was surprised to discover that i am enjoying the series so far and soon i will be finishing the third book.

despite my previous mixed experiences with books from the Plus Catalogue this was a pleasant find and would recommend a listen.

Right from the start of this story I was hooked. A totally brilliant take on a litrpg. It’s was well paced and builds progressively. Can’t wait to listen to book 2.

Exactly what I needed, something fun, with no crazy political bent, just an interesting magic system with great characters to boot. Definitely closer to YA than I’m used to—as others have noted—but on the flip side that meant that there was also no unnecessary smut, which is always a plus. Can’t wait for the next instalment.

I really don't know how Seth Ring does it. I've read every series he's written except one as I don't like the narrator. They're all awesome but this book and the Iron Tyrant are just another level....
