Summary

Despite being all alone - the only one of his kind - Bast Banbeck has generously helped humanity time and again against the death machines, saving us from extinction. Years ago, Jon Hawkins promised Bast that he would hunt for and save the Sacerdotes in return.

But the homesick Bast is losing hope, drowning his sorrows in extended drinking bouts. Now, Intelligence learns there are Sacerdote prisoners 162 light-years away.

Jon leads the rescue operation, using the void to slip undetected into enemy territory.

But this is an AI trap to capture and study Hawkins - the puny creature that has done more harm to the great AI Dominion than any other parasitical life form.

What no one knows is that Hawkins’ passage through the void has awakened an ancient evil, and it’s eager to reenter time and space.

The battle for life has just become more intense.

A.I. Rescue is the seventh book in the series chronicling humanity’s grim war for survival against the galactic machine juggernaut.

The series starts with book one A.I. Destroyer.

Noooooooooooooooo!

Why, on all that AI's call holy, would anyone think changing the narrator at book 7 is going to fly? Absolutely no disrespect intended to the new guy. I will be sure to check out some of his work soon as he looks to be into some of the same stuff I really enjoy. But sadly to me, this is series in now extinct. This particular biological infestation is looking for another star.

They changed the narrator

After hearing the first 6 books with one narrator they switched to a different narrator for this seventh book. There is no way for your brain to process that this new story is about the same characters that we know and understand fully from the first six books. The personification of the characters are so different than before that they don’t hold together and that takes us out of the story

Why change narrator now?

I have enjoyed the series so far and no disrespect to the narrator but it felt like I was listening to a completely different series. This was a bad move IMO. I was invested in the characters before but not so much now. Also there is a little to much rambling and unnecessary information.

Getting more childish and boring

I am big fan of A.I. series, but it lost its touch... It is becoming childish and boring. Narrator has two good voices - Kronos and one more which dies.. Overall this series should come to an end.

Fun and entertaining but nothing great.

It is fun and some parts are predictable. I did enjoy it but it is not a great story by any stretch. The narrator is fine as well.

Right where it left off.

This book overall was good. The series picks up basically right where the last book left off after a few years lull in the war. The new narrator performed well with a few exceptions (making bas sound like a muscle rat). I will be looking forward to the next book release.

Great Story Again, Not Out of Ideas

Very satisfying story, again. The story universe continues to intrigue. Great character voices in narration too!
