A delightfully sinister story for the influencer age, People Like Her is the twisting, compulsive debut thriller from Ellery Lloyd. Perfect for fans of Liane Moriarty (Big Little Lies).

But Emmy isn’t as honest as she’d like the fans to believe. She may think she has her followers fooled, but someone out there knows the truth and plans to make her pay . . .

Important to declare that I am NOT a fan of social media and if this cautionary tale doesn't give pause for thought then you deserve everything you get .... as did Mamabear in this well-narrated but very scary novel. Read it and weep if you live your life on facebook, instagram and twitter (amidst any others I have failed to notice). The adage 'you reap what you sow' has never been more relevant and I urge those who are fans to listen to this and hopefully act upon its warnings. Have to say I did enjoy the novel but as an outsider looking in and not a participant of this dangerous game. Good luck and take care out there!!!

Social media scary tale

Good story

very tense but subject matter might affect confidence of people with babies or trying for a baby. I have often slept with babies in my bed but don't do it if you're drunk.

Scary. Not recommended for couples with babies.

A great listen. Very apt for the social obsessed world we now live in. An easy listen.

I found this book well written and very well narrated. It highlighted the highs and lows of social media. I am not a fan but realise that becoming an influencer is a legitimate career choice nowadays. However the story also revolved around extracting revenge (although she called it justice) for a piece of advice offered by Emmy, the Mammabear influencer. This was interesting and the subsequent actions of the aggrieved person then provided an exciting conclusion to the story. Not entirely sure what the message was but it was an excellent read
