Summary
Penguin presents the audiobook edition of The Circadian Code written by Dr Satchin Panda, read by John Sackville.
Change your daily routine, transform your health.
Circadian rhythms are biological processes or clocks that exist in each one of our cells. Programmed to turn genes on or off at different times of the day or night, they influence every aspect of our health from weight and energy levels through to resistance to disease and infection, and how well we sleep.
Now, in The Circadian Code, this new science is revealed, showing that the timings of our day (when we eat, sleep, exercise, work) are more crucial than we ever thought before. And that, most importantly, if your daily schedule is out of sync with your circadian rhythms, you can fix it!
Whether you are a shift worker, a frustrated dieter, someone suffering from sleep problems or chronic illness, whatever your health concern, The Circadian Code is the key to unlocking your health.

The circadian code is a book about the advantages of aligning your life to your circadian code. When to exercise, eat and how to prepare for good quality sleep.
It descripes many aspect of work, light, food, excercise and sleeping habits and how they affect each other.
Concerns
The book is very preachy. The author clearly has an agenda of pushing limitting food consumption to 8-12 hours per day. The author sometimes backs his agenda with scientific studies and sometimes with anecdotes. He is careful to present each as what it is, but the tone implies that either should be accepted as facts. So it is challenging for the listener to conclude which of the statements of the author are backed by data or science, and which the author just belives to be true and has seen circumstancial evidence that supports his claims.
Strengths
I (personally) believe that if you follow the advice outlined in this book you will see a marked improvement in your health and energy.
Conclusion
I wish I could wholeheartedly recommend this book, but it will have to be halfhearted. I think it is a great book to start a discussion about changes you can do to improve your health, whatever your situation.
And as a talking point and inspiration to how to tackle sleep, weight and health in general I think it is a good book, well worth reading.
Great advice for sleep and health but..
