Steven Strogatz is a mathematician and bestselling author known for bringing the beauty, wonder, and power of mathematics to life. He is the Susan and Barton Winokur Distinguished Professor for the Public Understanding of Science and Mathematics at Cornell University. His latest book is Big Math, co-authored with Alex Townsend. His previous books include Sync, The Joy of x, and Infinite Powers, a New York Times bestseller and finalist for the Royal Society Science Book Prize. A member of the National Academy of Sciences, Strogatz is one of the world's most highly cited mathematicians and an award-winning teacher. He writes frequently for The New York Times and has appeared on Radiolab, Science Friday, and Veritasium. He lives in Ithaca, New York.
