Paul Carnahan writes stories. When he worked as a journalist, the stories were all true, but now they only have to feel like they're true – which is, oddly, much harder work. Paul was born in Glasgow, studied in Edinburgh and now lives roughly midway between the two, close to the new town of Cumbernauld, where he grew up. His first novel, the powerful time travel saga 'How Soon Is Now?' was released in June 2024. The Britpop-era romantic comedy 'End of a Century' followed in February, 2025, and a third book, currently titled 'All Men Have Secrets' and due for release in early 2026, will see a return to some of the themes and characters of 'How Soon Is Now?'. Paul is married, with two children, three dogs, four cats and assorted birds. He has more guitars than his musical talent can support, and his twin inspirations for becoming a writer were Terrance Dicks and James Joyce.
