Mike Hibbert is a lifelong gamer, fantasy writer, and the author of The Warlock at Ridge Valley — a contemporary-fantasy crossover exploring grief, friendship, and the power of storytelling through tabletop roleplaying. In August 2025, The Warlock at Ridge Valley was longlisted for the prestigious Times/Chicken House Children’s Fiction Competition, a nationwide award celebrating standout new talent in children’s fiction. The book is the first in a four-part series set between the real world and the fantasy land of Calambria — where characters and players alike face monsters, magic, and their inner demons.
