Mr. Allen holds a Master's degree in philosophy as well as a Certificate in Asian Studies. While serving as President of the Student Philosophy Association, he chaired the session, "Medical Ethics," for a seminar on Applied Ethics. He has presented numerous papers on Chinese Philosophy. At the University of Hawaii in Hilo, he gave a paper entitled "The Application of Taoist Metaphors in Contemporary Medicine" for the International Society for Chinese Philosophy. Mr. Allen also coaches a surf team, has training as a wilderness medic first responder, and works with the Boy Scouts of America as an Assistant Scout Master. His vision is to always help people, and ultimately to help humanity with Tao of Surfing (the bookz), and eventually through the release of the full length feature film based on the book aimed for 2014.
