Marc Reklau's last day of work was September 30th, 2013 — he was fired two days before his fortieth birthday, after eleven years at the same company. No employer called back. The few offers that came in were for less money than he'd earned a decade earlier. So he did the thing he'd been talking himself out of for twenty years: he wrote a book. 30 Days — Change Your Habits, Change Your Life was written on a friend's couch in Ibiza and self-published in 2014. In March 2015 it was downloaded almost 40,000 times in a few days. Exactly seven years after his last day of work — September 30th, 2020 — he moved into a penthouse on Malta. Today he lives in the heart of South America in Asunción, Paraguay. Marc is the author of 16 books that sold over 1 million copies and translated into 25+ languages, including Spanish, German, Japanese, Chinese, and Korean. He writes short, practical, honest books about habits, happiness, self-esteem, productivity, and money — and he famously tells readers not to expect anything revolutionary: "Common sense is not common action." He owns roughly 1.5 suitcases of possessions, answers all his own email, and lives — in his mother's words — "like a pensioner, just with a lot more money."
