Author, columnist and screenwriter, Manda Scott has written fifteen novels and a number of short stories. Her first novel, Hen's Teeth; was shortlisted for the Orange Prize, No Good Deed, was nominated for an Edgar, Into the Fire was shortlisted for the Wilbur Smith Adventure Prize, and her latest, A Treachery of Spies was shortlisted for Scotland's foremost literary Award, the Saltire. The international bestselling Boudica:Dreaming series has been optioned for television, as has Into the Fire, her dual time line revelatory novel of the truth behind the myth that is Joan of Arc. Into the Fire was published in 2015 to widespread critical acclaim. The part-sequel, " A Treachery of Spies" was published in 2018 and rapidly became Sunday Times 'Thriller of the month" as well as being short-listed for the Saltire. Founder and inaugural Chair of the Historical Writers' Association (, Manda has an MA in sustainable economics and teaches on the Masters programme at Schumacher college.
