I’m Kenny Soward, an author with a deep love for post-apocalyptic storytelling, the kind that digs into survival, family, and the grit it takes to hold onto hope when the world falls apart. Whether it’s the aftermath of an asteroid strike or the quiet tension of a broken society trying to rebuild, I aim to capture the human spirit at its rawest and realest. Though I’ve dabbled in epic fantasy and sci-fi over the years, my heart keeps coming back to the end of the world. It’s where I feel most at home as a writer, and where I think the most powerful stories can be told. I’m proud to walk alongside some incredible authors in the genre — writers like Mike Kraus, Tara Ellis, and Justin Bell — whose work continues to inspire and challenge me to dig deeper. And to my readers: you have my endless gratitude. Your support, reviews, and kind messages mean the world to me. You’re the reason I keep writing. I grew up just south of Cincinnati in a small Kentucky suburb, where I spent my childhood jumping bikes, getting scraped up, and dreaming big under the wide 1970s sky. My family has a strong tradition of service. My grandfather, uncles, and cousins served in the military, and my father was a Kentucky State Trooper. Their sense of duty and resilience shaped who I am and continues to inform the stories I tell. When I’m not writing, you might find me geeking out over post-apocalyptic films, binge-watching Battlestar Galactica (the reboot, of course), or hanging out with my cats and spouse of 20 years as I plot the next chapter of the collapse.
