James “SplitSuit” Sweeney began playing poker in 2004. What started as small dorm games and PartyPoker SNGs eventually turned into high-volume grinding. After college James moved out to Las Vegas and was well-positioned to continue playing after Black Friday hit. Sweeney also began taking students through that time. Over the years he has worked with more than 500 students ranging from casual live players to serious online grinders. His books are heavily inspired by working with students and understanding how to give simple answers to complex questions. Sweeney's resume doesn't end on the felt. He also co-founded the training site Red Chip Poker and started their top-rated podcast to help players learn deep strategy. He manages ThePokerBank's YouTube channel which contains hundreds of free training videos and has over 3,600,000 views.
