First of all, to clear up any confusion, there are two of us named Gillian Riley who have written and published books about food. The 'other one' (from my perspective) is a food historian who describes traditional recipes and foods. I am the Gillian Riley who has written about an entirely different aspect: facing the challenge of making real and lasting changes in our modern, everyday eating. Most of my readers and clients want to lose weight - but not all. Many have got themselves into a big muddle about food: how often to eat, how much to eat, how to eat less at meals or snacks. Often they are looking for some peace of mind... and weight loss, where appropriate, is one good result among many. Nutritional advice is not my priority. That information is widespread, is still somewhat controversial, and will tend to differ from person to person for a number of reasons. My priority is to enable you to apply the advice to eat in healthier ways - without following rigid rules and unreasonable restrictions. I've been running seminars about all this in London, England since 1997, simultaneously studying the medical research, reading books on a range of related subjects, and, of course, learning from my clients. This has been my full time work and life for the best part of two decades, and what I offer you now comes from this experience. I'm available to do consultations by telephone or Skype. You can reach me through my eatingless.com web site, where you'll also find a lot of information about my work, where you can sign up for my free monthly blog and receive an eBook on why 'Intuitive Eating' doesn't work for everyone. I hope you find my books helpful; if so, please leave a review because that really does help others decide if this is the right book for them.
