Liz O'Riordan is a Consultant Breast Surgeon who was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer in 2015. She had chemotherapy, a mastectomy and radiotherapy, and started an award-winning blog (liz.oriordan.co.uk - Breast Surgeon with breast Cancer) to talk about her experiences to help patients and health care professionals see what having breast cancer is really like, in an honest, friendly way. She gives talks all over the world about her experiences, including a TEDx Stuttgart talk, 'Jar of Joy', about how to help anyone with cancer. In 2018 she had a local recurrence of her breast cancer, and had surgery and more radiotherapy to treat it. She appeared on the final podcast of 'You, Me and the Big C' for BBC"s Radio 5 Live.
