Anne Midgette was for 12 years the classical music critic of The Washington Post; before that, she was the first woman to write classical music reviews on a regular basis for The New York Times. She has also written for The Wall Street Journal, NPR, Opera News, The Los Angeles Times, Town & Country, ARTnews, and many other publications. She is co-author of the memoirs The King and I (Doubleday), a candid book about Luciano Pavarotti written with his manager, Herbert Breslin, and My Nine Lives (Doubleday), written with the pianist Leon Fleisher.
